Sonya amazing rescue from a solitary life in a garden after being abandoned by her owners

Sonya

For three long years, Sonya lived a life of heartbreaking loneliness, tied up in a garden after being abandoned by her owner. With no one to care for her, she survived only because of the kindness of neighbours who made sure she had something to eat. Despite her isolation and neglect, Sonya’s gentle spirit endured.

When she was finally rescued, Sonya’s suffering was evident. Her ear was severely inflamed and painful, requiring immediate attention to remove a tight ring that had been left on for far too long. After this, she was placed into foster care with one of our dedicated shelter volunteers, where she could begin to heal emotionally and physically.

While in foster care, it was discovered that Sonya needed surgery to remove tumours, a crucial step to give her the best chance at a healthy future. Thanks to the care and support of the shelter team and generous donors, Sonya is now recovering in a safe environment.

Though she still lives in the uncertainty of a warzone, Sonya’s life has transformed. She is safe, cared for, and happier than she has been in years. Her story is a powerful reminder of the resilience of animals and the life-changing impact of compassion and care.

Sonya’s journey from abandonment to safety reflects the incredible difference you make for vulnerable dogs in desperate need of help.
